Televisions used to be reserved for very wealthy people; when they finally made their way to the masses, they were often what we gathered around at night, to watch just a couple of shows and a couple of stations.

Things certainly have changed; now we typically bring our own screen with us, wherever we go, and have 24/7 access to any number of different content types.
